The Park will temporarily close starting March 13, 2020.
As the COVID-19 pandemic rapidly evolves in our city and around the nation, Access Ventures has continued to monitor the situation as it unfolds. Businesses are requiring, or strongly encouraging, employees to work remote; local universities are changing their entire method of teaching to distance learning; and community events are canceling at a rapid pace. With this in mind Access Ventures wants to play a proactive role in reducing the potential speed of COVID-19 transmission.
Access Ventures owns and operates The Park, a co-working space in Louisville, Ky. One of Access Ventures’ core values is what we call “Default to Impact”. We view defaulting to impact as a determining factor in how to proceed with business decisions. We view all resources as a tool for positive impact in the world and we strive to be good stewards of the resources we manage. In this case, we have decided that the impact we desire to see in the short-term is the safety and well-being of our members, as well as the community at-large. Toward this end we have decided to temporarily close The Park effective Friday, March 13, 2020.
Members of The Park were notified of this decision earlier today. We do not yet know how long this closure will remain in effect but we will be giving our co-working members updates as this continues to unfold, pro-rating memberships in the month of March and pausing any future transactions until a future date when we are comfortable re-opening The Park. We are thankful for our co-working community at The Park and know this decision will have an impact on our member’s companies, work, and families, but we trust our decision best safeguards our entire community in the coming days and weeks.
